On April 29th, 30th & May 1st of 2018, in order for the innocent international school children and the English speaking people of Colombo as well as foreign visitiors to learn the true meaning of the Vesak celebrations, Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery presented a Grand Buddha Mandira with shrines and paintings depicting the Buddha’s life story and teachings, including the value of parents in the lives of children Nelum Pokuna Theatre, 110 Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 00700.
Monks were on hand to explain the Buddha’s life story through a beautiful set of paintings made by the famous Indian artist Vasudeo Kamath. Children were encouraged to learn about the teachings of the Buddha and to practice meditation.

• Flower and incense stick Dansal
• Food Dansala
• Holy threads and water bottles
• free Dhamma handouts
• Children’s Pali and English Paritta chanting
• Demonstrating the value of parents and one’s life through videos and short Dhamma sermons
