Dhammapada Verses 37 | Citta Vagga

Do you have a wandering mind? Lack of mindfulness is one of the greatest problems that we face as humans. Our minds wander from far and wide, trapping us in the bonds of the Evil One. In this verse, the Supreme Buddha advises us on how we can free ourselves from these bonds.

Dūraṅgamaṃ ekacaraṃ, asarīraṃ guhāsayaṃ;
Ye cittaṃ saṃyamissanti, mokkhanti mārabandhanā.

The mind dwells in the cave of the heart. It is without a body and wanders far and alone. Those who restrain this mind will be freed from Māra’s bonds.
