The power of both good deeds and bad deeds are clear; we cannot escape our Karmic results until we attain Nibbana. In this beautiful sermon by our teacher, Most Venerable Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thera, we learn how even the slightest of bad deeds can follow us in this samsaric journey resulting in much suffering. This was the same for a young man named Uttara, who was extremely fortunate to be born at the time of our Supreme Buddha. He ordained as a monk and was able to finally free himself from the bonds of Samsara through sheer virtue, patience, his wise way of thinking and the great merit he accumulated in Samsara by offering flowers to a Buddha.
